One of the more bits of brilliant design in City of Heroes is that there is such a diverse and distinct array of enemy factions. Over the course of the game, you really do get a feel for each group’s “personality,” and at least in my case, I became affectionate toward some of them. I guess when you fight an enemy often enough, the ones that amuse you and play on your sympathies can become frenemies of a sort, even if only in your mind.
Assuming that you’ve encountered a group or two like that over the years in your MMOs that you’ve taken a liking, I’d love to hear about it today. Which enemy faction became your favorite to encounter — and why? Did they make you laugh? Give the best loot? Die the quickest? Have the best animations?
