Tidy up those inventories, Grim Dawn players: The latest update to Crate Entertainment’s dark-fantasy ARPG, which went live yesterday, introduces five all-new legendary gear sets for players to collect, each with its own array of unique, playstyle-defining traits.
The new Pyran’s Ruminations set, for example, is all about making things explode, then making those explosions explode, with support for the Devastation, Mortar Trap, and Celestial Guardian skills. For those who prefer a slightly subtler approach, there’s the Korvan Dunefiend set, which empowers the Shadow Strike skill while imbuing strikes with deadly acidic venom. And if neither of those tickle your fancy, don’t worry; there are still three other sets to choose from, each supporting a different skillset and playstyle.
In addition to the new legendary sets, the update also expands the Shattered Realm with four “twisted new anomaly levels” for players to tackle. And of course, no Grim Dawn update would be complete without a massive list of balance tweaks, with adjustments for dozens of items and augments as well as ability changes for the Soldier, Demolitionist, Occultist, Nightblade, Arcanist, Shaman, Inquisitor, and Necromancer masteries.
The update also coincides with the release of the second Loyalist Item Pack DLC, which includes two new cosmetic armor sets and accompanying weapon transmogs in addition to a handful of other cosmetics and the crate companion pet, which — as you can see in the header image — appears to be exactly what it sounds like. All of the update content is available now to all Grim Dawn players, and you can snag the new Loyalist Pack DLC for $8.99 US, though it’s available on sale for the heavily discounted price of $8.09 until June 27th.
