It’s been a bit of a weird month as the two big factions of World of Warcraft – no, not the Horde and Alliance but Classic and Retail – vie for the attention of the developers. This week, it’s been all about the Retail crowd with the launch of WoW 8.2.5 and the culmination of a key part of the Battle for Azeroth storyline, as we mentioned yesterday.
The WoW Reddit has been awash in plot spoilers and reactions since Tuesday, and then a curious thing happened: People on the RP servers started actually rioting and marching in-character.
This is why I love MMORPGS: Hundreds of players are standing on top of Orgrimmar gates and outside of them, Rioting the Banshee Queen (Argent Dawn EU-RP server, WoW) from MMORPG
People are marching around Orgrimmar to honor Saurfang (Argent Dawn EU-RP server) from wow
It also looks as though Blizzard has set key NPCs and groups on patrol in some of the key cities, including Liadrin, Thrall, and Geya’rah. New to MMOs? Nah, but still cool.
Stay tuned for our WoW Factor column later today, as we’ll break down the story points and weigh in on whether it all works as intended.
