In putting together our big list of MMOs that came out in the last decade, I startled myself yesterday when I realized DC Universe Online should be on it. I mean, of course it should. It launched nine years ago tomorrow. But somehow it always seems to be forgotten, in spite of being one of Daybreak’s big success stories.
Welp, it won’t be forgotten today. Daybreak brought back the Anti-Monitor anniversary event this week as the game is eating cake and toasting its longevity.“The anniversary event is back, featuring open world missions, the Centennial Collapse raid, A World Past Hope and Fear solo, and new feats, styles, and rewards. Open your Mission Journal and look for “Monitoring the Situation,” queue up for “Centennial Collapse in the On Duty menu, or use the Warp Menu to warp directly to the Metropolis Anti-Matter Invasion Zone.”
We’re also expecting anniversary gifts “coming in time for January 11” and a bonus weekend for source marks (should be live now), something new players will definitely want to go farm up.
Wanna see how the superhero MMO is faring? We streamed its holiday events just a few weeks ago, plus we did two deeper-dives into the game last year: one on PC, and one on the Switch, where it launched in 2019.
