It’s going to be a while before the co-op PvE of Overwatch 2 is playable, but there are still some good old-fashioned Overwatch PvE events, aren’t there? Yes indeed! And now they’re getting dusted off and given a fresh coat of paint for the new Archives event, running until April 2nd. But these aren’t just the familiar events like Uprising, Retribution, and Storm Rising; no, you can now take on each of these missions in specialized challenge modes unique to each map.
For example, for the first week Uprising offers Molten Cores (wherein enemies drop lava patches when they die) and Glass Cannon (players have lower health but deal more damage). Each of the other missions also has two potential modifiers to give you added spice when replaying the familiar fights. There are also new weekly challenges for taking on Quick Play, Competitive Play, or the Arcade mode, with more wins allowing you to unlock icons, sprays, and skins. So if you’ve already played more than enough of these maps by your estimation… well, there’s some new stuff in there after all.
