Elite: Dangerous’ second fleet carriers beta begins today – here are the patch notes

The next round of beta for fleet carriers in Elite: Dangerous is fast approaching, and with it comes a number of confirmed changes that have been outlined in a set of patch notes. Most of these adjustments will look familiar, including the addition of optional Universal Cartographics, a full refund on carrier cost once decommissioned barring any debt and the voluntary decommissioning fee, reduced tritium consumption, and default module and ship storage.

What is different with this round of beta is a “beta blowout,” which will reduce the purchase cost to 1 million credits near the end of the beta, effectively making them available to “almost anyone.”

As a reminder, the beta begins today for PC players as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans. The Xbox version of the beta was in danger of being delayed today, then the issues that were causing problems were cleared with Xbox set for 11 a.m. EDT, but as we write this, it’s up in the air again.
