Analyzing and studying the numerous psychological gambits that Blizzard and NetEase use to wheedle their way into players’ wallets give off the (true) impression that our wills are under attack.
But of course, that’s also true in other games as well. Lockboxes tempt us with visions of untapped riches, “convenient” purchases in the store add up, and who wouldn’t want to snap up that adorable, must-have mount that’s only available for a limited time? LIMITED, people!
