The Daily Grind: Do you shun early access MMOs and multiplayer games?

The MOP community tends to be pretty strict about crowdfunding; the majority of you tell us how much you hate Kickstarter all the time. But does that apply to preorders and early access games too?

I never say never, but I kinda feel the same way about all three types of early game buying. I seldom Kickstart (video) games, I really don’t like to buy anything in early access if I can help it, and my preorders from the last half-decade are so rare I can count them on one hand – and they’re almost entirely expansions and sequels from studios that have given me years of reason to trust them. I just am not a huge fan of paying for things that don’t exist yet. You make the thing, and I’ll give you the money, unless there’s some way I can back out later if you don’t keep your end of the deal. It’s caused me no end of frustration because there are so many early access titles I do want (and know I will want this year), but I’m super leery of breaking my “no early access” rule. Too many companies let us down.
