Bethesda begins to roll out Elder Scrolls Castles, its latest Elder Scrolls mobile game

Elder Scrolls Online players looking to take their gaming addiction on the go have a good cause to rejoice this week, as Bethesda surprised everyone with the announcement of a mobile strategy game set in the popular franchise.

The Elder Scrolls: Castles, a title made by the Fallout Shelter devs, is a cute-looking strategy title where “you’ll build your own dynasty where every day in our world is a year in the game’s world. Citizens are born, they die, rulers change, and can be betrayed.”

While Castles isn’t available worldwide, it has soft launched in the Philippines as of this week and is taking pre-registrations from interested fans. Like Fallout Shelter, Castles features a growing base — in this case, your titular keep — that is populated by loyal followers who are given positions and orders and will even fight for you.

The game joins 2019’s Elder Scrolls Blades on mobile devices; if you’re looking for more hack-and-slash, that’s probably more your speed. And of course, if you’re looking for a proper multiplayer or MMO title, this is also not going to fill that niche.
