Vindictus welcomes Master Swordsman Sou hero as it sunsets its PvP modes

Well hello there, Vindictus – I’d say it’s been a while, but actually it hasn’t, as Nexon popped out several new characters in 2023 and then took a sharp axe to all of its PvP systems just this past Tuesday. The addition of another new character at the top of 2024 might help smooth over that bad news: Nexon has launched Master Swordsman Sou, a broody-looking katana-wielding swordmaster.

“Sou – a powerful swordsman also known as the ‘Night Raven’ who packs both speed and strength in a brutal fighting style,” the studio says. “In addition to the deadly swordsman’s arrival, players can participate in the ‘Sou Celebratory Package’ event to acquire all-new attire, enticing rewards to level up quickly and more.” Wildly snazzy, we think you’ll agree.

“After defeating the Son of Heaven from the eastern continent, Sou now travels west wielding dual swords: the ‘Kodachi’ and the ‘Odachi,’ which allow him to perform a combination of powerful, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it attacks. Sou also harnesses a legendary technique known as ‘Shattered Sky,’ which allows for various powerful effects. Sou’s core skill, ‘Distant Horizon,’ can be used with the Kodachi to quickly slash enemies, and with the Odachi to perform devastating upwards attacks. Sou can also use ‘Road to Ruin’ to charge while slashing enemies. Additionally, useful skills such as ‘Soaring Dragon’ and ‘Ascension’ employ the greatest qualities of each sword to execute perfect combos.”

Folks with no interest in Sou will still be treated to crafting speed and experience boosts from now through March 26th.
