Blade & Soul NEO Classic discusses content tweaks while staying non-committal to a release date

The NEO Classic server project that Blade & Soul is working on seems to be a long time coming if prior posts are any indication, but that hasn’t stopped fans (and us) from wondering when it will open to the public. On that point, NCsoft’s latest post is being a bit flighty, as it responds to the elephant in the room with a “ready when it’s ready” style answer:

“We too want to provide a clear schedule for NEO Classic’s release. However, we fear that by promising a release date, we’ll end up releasing NEO Classic in an incomplete state for the sake of keeping that promise, even before fully implementing the changes that players wish for.

“We would like to sincerely apologize that we can’t satisfy your curiosity regarding the release schedule at this time. However, we promise to give it our all in creating the best possible version of Blade & Soul NEO Classic that will surpass your expectations and reward you for your patience.”

The post otherwise brings another video preview from the devs, which begins by explaining some of the changes that will be present to the MMORPG’s content in NEO Classic, which will include the main story quest chain that runs from Heaven’s Reach to Moonwater Plains, a reduction to grinding and party play necessity, and efforts to make things like dungeons and the exploration journal feel less like a chore. NEO Classic also brings hidden quests that open up as they move through the game’s areas and a new heroic dungeon known as the Phantom Catacombs.
