Mabinogi opens a new microsite that details the MMO’s upgrade to Unreal Engine 5

Unreal Engine 5 seems to be the bees knees among game devs, especially those who are looking to upgrade their existing games to the latest and shiniest engine, but we’re not sure how many people had the long-running anime MMO Mabinogi pegged for this kind of upgrade. That is indeed the case as Nexon first announced Mabinogi Eternity in December, and now that progress is being highlighted with an all-new microsite.

This new site is already chock-full of dev blogs and brief preview videos of completed characters, areas, and activities, with the promise of more as the upgrade continues. One of the more insightful dev blogs comes from director Min Kyunghun, who confirms that Eternity is currently in a prototyping stage as the devs refine every portion of the MMO, from backend to systems to features. Min also confirms that Eternity is being built as a successor to the original title.

As one might expect, a date for the full release of Eternity isn’t being nailed down right now, but fans are encouraged to keep an eye on the site for more in-depth and generally honest-looking blogs about the project’s progress.
