Back when MultiVersus was at the height of its popularity, we reported on rumors of Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch coming to the roster, remarking at the end that it’s effectively open season for character additions at that point. We still don’t have either of those rumored fighters, but Player First Games has unveiled two unexpected additions all the same: Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th and Agent Smith from The Matrix.
These new characters were revealed in the latest cinematic trailer along with the relaunched season named Puns & Villainy. Specifically, Jason will be arriving alongside The Joker when the fighter returns on May 28th, while Agent Smith will be arriving later in the season.
As one might expect from a cinematic trailer, there’s not a whole lot of gameplay so much as a focus on the wide assortment of characters that will be a part of the MultiVersus roster that players of the previous beta are familiar with, so that means specifics on Jason and Smith’s gameplay styles aren’t available yet. All the same, there’s a very brief look awaiting below.
