Co-op multiplayer RPG Wuthering Waves makes its global release on PC and mobile tonight

Earlier this month we first caught wind of Wuthering Waves, a co-op RPG for PC and mobile devices from Kuro Games set in a sci-fantasy world with plenty of anime characters and a gacha monetization model. As of tonight, the wait is over and the global launch is on, with all of the expected hullabaloo that one might anticipate from a new title spreading its wings and taking flight.

Pre-download of the game went live earlier this week, as did a launch trailer that continues to lean in on the anime design ethos of being extremely vague. Things have already hit a bit of a snag even at pre-download, as the Android version was already experiencing crash issues, though they appear to have since been fixed.

The game is preparing multiple launch events to mark the occasion of its release, including login rewards, freebies handed out for pre-registration milestones, and free gacha pulls upon reaching level eight. The studio also held a pre-recorded presentation that showcased the content coming at launch, including six acts’ worth of story content, questlines for three companions, several world bosses, and additional in-game events.
