World of Warcraft devs vow further work on transmog system – including retroactive quest unlocks

Are World of Warcraft players being unnecessarily grumpy or do they have a legitimate greviance against Blizzard concerning the game’s popular transmog system? That’s a question to ask when you read a post reacting to some of the plans that the studio has for transmog now that The War Within’s warband system is in full effect.

Specifically, this post dings Blizzard for not including appearance unlocks from previously completed quests, how Pandaria Remix handled weapon arsenals, the low drop rate for transmog drops in the pre-patch event, and not being able to learn class-restricted cosmetics.

Funny enough, it appears that the studio itself agrees with some of these complaints, saying, “We’re working to make it so that non-cosmetic class-restricted gear can have its appearance collected by any class […] We’re also still working on the much-discussed update that makes it so that when quests are completed, all appearances from non-cosmetic item rewards will be granted, regardless of whether that particular class could have seen or chosen them. We plan for this to be retroactive.”
