Open world MMO Past Fate focuses on optimization with its recent closed alpha patch

It’s looking dubious that Ivy North Games’ Past Fate will make its formerly stated goal of an early access release by the end of 2024, but in the meanwhile, the skill-based open-world MMO cruised into Patch 0.4.9 of its closed alpha test.

The devs said that this patch primarily focuses on optimization improvements: “We reduced the memory usage which will resolve fatal error issues for those who were getting them when the game was using too much memory on startup. The patch also reduces the overall size of the game.”

Another change with Patch 0.4.9 is a revamped Blackfang Keep, which has been redesigned “to run much more smoothly and to be less complex and confusing to play in.”

This marks the third patch that Past Fate brought to its alpha this year, following ones in February and May.
