We’ve heard some sad news out of Kickstarted superhero MMORPG City of Titans: Its chief city designer has passed away. Missing Worlds Media posted this morning that back in July, Nathan “Red Warlock” Purkiss died after a long battle with cancer. The studio says it waited to post the news to process its own shock and loss.

“Ever since he joined the project as a volunteer he was a joy to work with. He had a grace and an optimism that inspired others; and his dedication was incredible, teaching himself the skills to build not just small things, but an entire city. He was our primary City Designer and Builder. Taking cues from our development team and the ideas of community members, he created the neighborhoods of Titan City. In one way or another, his creative touch is on every building, street, dark alleyway and beautiful landscape. He was also an active member of our PR team, always willing to answer questions, and always happy to talk about the work being done. He was most excited to have people visit the city he made. He loved watching people exploring and finding the hidden secrets and surprises he had added. He filled the city with the wit and charm and humor we saw in him every day.”

“He was one of our best,” the team concludes. “There aren’t enough words to say how much he will be missed.” Our condolences to Purkiss’ family and friends and the whole Titans community.
