Throne & Liberty adds 41 new servers to handle global launch pops, peaking at 326K Steam players so far

Welp, we knew that Throne and Liberty was going to see a big blast of players when it switched from its paid headstart to its free-to-play global launch yesterday afternoon, and we were right: Even on a Tuesday in the middle of the work week, the game saw a peak of 326,377 concurrent players just on Steam (we don’t have numbers for PS5 and Xbox X|S). We’re guessing it’ll keep setting new peaks through this weekend, if Amazon’s other MMOs are any indication.

Amazon and NCsoft opened a few extra servers and lifted capacity during the headstart, but the real new server avalanche started rumbling yesterday. By our count, the devs have already added 41 new servers just in the last day.

  • Europe: Zarek, Arkhan, Basilisk, Elleia, Abundance, Talem, Leonardas, Justice, Destruction, Mallok, Mankipak, Shaderock, Soiri, Stallof, Titanreach, Vanfeld, Windwhisper, Arnette, Brent
  • EU Central: Karchars, Lequirus, Pakilo, Porfos, Rumi
  • North America East: Oath, Sanctuary, Dracoryft, Kuaku, Immortality, Desire, Bercant
  • North America West: Stoneguard, Tiago, Veron
  • South America: Grace, Felix, Morin, Courage, Valor
  • Asia Pacific: Taion, Bailey

With the launch here, Amazon is back to talking up the game’s milestone system, which challenges players to rush through leveling and bosses in exchange for rewards. The studios also boosted population caps in multiple regions and servers, repaired an issue with the auction house for EU players and updated the PS5 build to fix crash bugs.

MOP’s own Four Winds columnist Carlo spent all night playing the game and can’t stop talking about it, so stay tuned for his column later today!
