Trick-or-treating and Baalphazu, Marquis of Terror, return to New World next week

New World is having a second day in the sun this week, thanks to its release on console and its new Aeternum edition, but in case you’re already over that hype, the game’s Halloween event arrives next week. While it’s basically the same event as the last few years, it’ll mark the first time consolers have gotten a crack at it.

“Shapes in the mist! Shrieks in the night! The demon Baalphazu, Marquis of Terror, and his horde of ghoulish Pumpkinites are spreading a living nightmare across Aeternum,” Amazon says. “Aid Salvatore the Mad in his quest to banish these foul terrors and collect a bounty of Nightveil Hallow rewards. Nightveil Hallow returns on October 22 through November 5. Banish the shadowy demon back to the darkness, don unique costumes, and trick-or-treat for unique candy rewards. You can also purchase event-specific items in the Event Shop.”

The trick-or-treating isn’t euphemistic, incidentally; you really can slap on a costume and hunt for treats in town. But the level 66 Baalphazu world boss raid is probably the star of the show – and the content you’ll be doing for armor and costumes. See you October 22nd!
