Following the news that Fractured Online is tweaking its content roadmap and going free-to-play, Dynamight Studios has followed through on its planned updates with its latest major update, which introduces several changes that regular players may want to know about.

First, consumables have been reworked to a significant degree: They now have their own dedicated hotbar slot and have been filed under three categories, their effects are stronger but their cooldowns are lengthened, and crafting them requires different materials such as gem dusts and awakened energy. There’s also a new herbalism shop that can be found in cities, which is good considering players are going to find any consumables crafted from fireplaces have been removed from their inventories.

Another major piece of the patch is focused around armor penetration adjustments, which Dynamight explains is meant to shake up the MMO’s PvP meta. Abilities and weapons that have armor penetration now affect targets differently based on how heavy their armor is; essentially the heavier the armor, the more penetration matters.

Finally of note is the game’s first special event, which grants doubled divine reward drops, doubled divine favor, and 50% more gold between now and October 28th. The patch has also applied a few fixes as well, so players will likely want to read the full patch notes for all of the details.
