Step with us into the official MOP Timeline Cruiser for a brief recap of Jade Dynasty. This Chinese-themed MMO took its last breath in 2018 as Perfect World closed it down. It came back as a mobile game later that year, but it wasn’t quite the same (is it ever?). Then in 2022, we got word that Perfect World was working on a revival of Jade Dynasty World with a more open-world focus.

Now, after a couple years of additional development and alpha testing, Perfect World is ready to take the next step by putting Jade Dynasty World into open beta — in China on December 19th.

“After more than 1,200 days and nights of development and debugging, and after solving numerous requirements and items to be optimized, Jade Dynasty World has come step-by-step to the present day,” the company said. “The promise of being released in 2024 is about to be fulfilled.”

PWE said that this Unreal Engine 5 title will offer “a deeper, more immersive and high-quality MMO experience.” No word was mentioned about a western release.
