There are a few general reasons for a survival title forcing players to survive. Sometimes its just raw instinct, sometimes it’s to withstand the assaults of others, and sometimes it’s to come together to rebuild and restore. That last impetus is what drives Towers of Aghasba, an upcoming survival RPG for up to four players that tasks gamers with renewing the ancestral homeland of a tribe of people.
“Decades after the Shimu people were forced to flee their homeland due to the invasion of a mysterious force known as the Withered, the Shimu have returned to reclaim their rightful home: the fantastical island of Aghasba. As junior architect, it’s your job to rebuild the villages of your once-mighty civilization as well as nurse Aghasba’s once-thriving ecosystems back to life.”
Players will have to explore the various parts of the land, encouraging wildlife and fellow tribe members back by cultivating plants, building settlements, and befriending animals, all while fighting back against the corrupting influence of Withered.
Aghasba is eyeing an early access release on Tuesday, November 19th, with an early access period between 12 and 18 months. The game promises six regions to explore, three ecosystems to grow, and three types of settlements to develop. Pricing isn’t specified for the EA launch, but developer Dreamlit Inc. does confirm that it will have a higher price upon full launch.
