Brighter Shores bans multiboxing and adds single-click actions in today’s update

Brighter Shores’ first patch last week might have been a wee one, but clearly Fen Research was holding a bit back for this week’s update, which has officially rolled out to the early access MMORPG as of this morning.

First, Fen’s Andrew Gower says that if you were multiboxing – that is, playing with more than one account simultaneously for fun and profit – that ends now.

“We have updated the rules to make ‘multiboxing’ (logging in multiple accounts simultaneously) against the rules,” Gower writes. “This is no longer allowed, so if you have been doing it please stop now!”

But the good news is that the patch includes a bunch of quality-of-life improvements, specially in the realm of control and movement. The game now has an option for single-click actions, camera rotation with the middle mouse button, mouse button keybinds, and the option to click up to two rooms away from your current map.

The studio has also reduced the cap on people in combat rooms and fishing rooms so they’ll be a little less crowded and nuked an issue that was allowing players to server-hop to hunt for thieves.

Finally, “If you have (unwisely!) deleted your entire account, you can now choose to create a new account.” So there’s that.
