Multiplayer survivalbox Echoes of Elysium launches its airship creation tool for free on Steam

As promised, Echoes of Elysium – the Snail Games-pubbed multiplayer survival box from Loric Games – officially launched its airship builder tool last night on Steam. MMO players are going to be familiar with this type of tool already as it’s very similar to the tools distributed by Worlds Adrift (RIP) and more recently Lost Skies.

“With Echoes of Elysium’s Airship Builder tool, players will take on the role of sky engineers and customize their own airships from keel to dome – whether it’s combining hulls, power pods, weapons platforms, and luxurious interiors to create an aerial fortress or floating palace through modular construction or balancing the layout of giant sails with the functionality of the armor thickness, every detail of the design is a challenge for the player. Every detail will have a direct impact on the speed and survivability of the future journey.”

Noteworthy here is Loric Games’ manifesto that it “aims to completely break the tradition of ‘beta testing is deletion'” – meaning all ships created in this beta tool will be “automatically inherited into the full version[.]”

The tool is completely free on Steam and available through April 30th for tinkering, with awards for the best creations; the game itself doesn’t yet have a hard launch window, but it’s seeming closer and closer.
