Black Desert: DDOS attacks, South Korean lawsuit, and Halloween

If you’ve been having problems with your Black Desert server crashing this week, you’re not alone. Kakao seems to be suffering a wave of DDOS attacks on the North American servers, including one this morning. While Kakao says it’s taken care of the latest wave, it’s not yet clear whether players will be granted compensation.

In other Black Desert news, Reddit is mulling over an unusual case in South Korea whereby a Korean gamer is apparently being threatened with a lawsuit for outing a bit of Pearl Abyss’ supposed dirty laundry. Google Translate is having a bizarrely difficult time translating both the original accusations from the player as well as the report on the suit, but it appears that the player alleged that Pearl Abyss was exploiting events, pardoning banworthy players over political affiliations, and abusing the cash shop. Pearl Abyss is apparently demanding $15,000 else it will take the player, who’s since been banned, to court for defamation-related causes.

In happier news, the game is half off for the next few days as part of the Halloween festivities.
