ArenaNet announced today that Heart of Thorns, the first expansion for the three-year-old Guild Wars 2, will formally launch on October 23rd.

The studio saw several of its PAX Prime reveals spoiled yesterday. Those of you with your eye on the calendar will know that the planned date intersects Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion early access; BlizzCon is two weeks afterward.
