It’s been a good while now since Champions Online received a new story — and the bad news is that players are going to have to wait a while longer to get the next one. While Cryptic said that it was very close to completing The Midnight Depths this past August, the update has not appeared this fall. And now it looks like the trip to a prison on the moon won’t be happening until early next year.
Sorry kids, we have to turn this spaceship around and go back home.
“When we first announced The Midnight Depths in September, we believed this content was about to be released, and we apologize for the repeated delays,” the studio posted this week. “In the interest of making sure we release the best content possible for this finale to our first serial story, we’re making the difficult decision to push this content back until early 2021.”
Fortunately, there’s always the Halloween event — Blood Moon — to keep superheroes occupied this month. “You can get new titles, and the Trick or Treat Inventory Bag. Trick or Treaters will be out around Millennium City, and those of you into battling your fellow heroes can engage in the Hunters vs. Lycans PVP event,” the developers said.
