There is basically no situation wherein an indefinite delay is a good thing for a game. Bless Online is getting hit with one at the moment, as the game is currently undergoing major revisions to nine key areas. Hopefully that indefinite delay doesn’t turn into a permanent delay; the game hasn’t yet had a chance to launch a localized edition with wildly divisive choices blamed on the localization team.
Other news in the beta world this week, as always:
- A similar situation exists for The Repopulation, albeit for very different reasons involving the Hero Engine and the financial woes of another company.
- Looking forward to Chronicle: RuneScape Legends? The good news is that it’s entering beta in two weeks or so. The bad news is… wait, there’s no bad news. Never mind.
- Both Tree of Savior and Arpiel Online are entering into open beta in South Korea in December, although the former is not yet tied down to a specific date. The latter is aiming at December 3rd.
- The first expansion for Elite: Dangerous has entered beta testing. It entered it back on November 9th, actually, if you’d missed it.
- How many times has Devilian been in closed beta? Not once, not twice, but thrice. It’s in its third closed test now, that’s what we’re getting at here.
- Elite Lord of Alliance is entering its own open beta starting on November 17th. Any and all who wish to jump in may do so! That’s what makes it open.
And yes, there’s more stuff in beta testing in the full list down below, which you may enter at your leisure. Everything’s about entries these days. On that note, if there’s an issue with one of the entries below – like something that swapped test phases without us noticing – let us know down in the comments.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions.
