The hack-and-slash fantasy MMO Elite Lord of Alliance will be transitioning from closed beta testing to open beta next week.

Webzen announced today that it’s set a date for ELOA’s open beta test: November 17th. Starting then, any player who is interesting in seeing what this title has to offer needs only to head over to the official site and sign up for the beta. While players can’t get into the beta until the 17th, they can preload the game today.

ELOA has an anime theme and has a style of combat that requires players to continually switch stances. If you want to get a better feel for it, there are character creation and class videos after the break.

A Dad Supreme Think of it as when WoW having 3 different skill trees and instead of specializing in 1 and a half you can switch between all 3 and use skills from all.

This definitely changes things up from the norm.

Greaterdivinity I’ll be playing both, they both cater in different ways. Devillian is definitely tickling that old Diablo 2 feel that Blizzard and every company after couldn’t replicate.

ELOA, I’m in this as my new main side game. It was really refreshing and different really plus it had a nice little bit of everything for most to ask for.

A Dad Supreme that was the thing i didn’t understand when i played it, and it boggles my mind when people say its a cool feature that adds strategy. each class has 3 weapons, they’re not weapons you can switch out, they’re just that classes 3 weapons. They are literally nothing more than extra button presses

This game is Torchlight Online in all but name & the class swapping is a lot like swapping weapons in Diablo and Torchlight.
… Only there are three loadouts instead of two and each loadout is dedicated to a specific class weapon type (each class gets three).
Not even remotely kidding about the Torchlight Online part: the rangers get a bow, a shotgun, and a cannon (I will not be the slightest bit surprised if the first major expansion adds in pistols as a 4th “stance”).
