Whether you’re the kind of player who wants to build bases or an old salt that’s ready to mark 20 years of frantic FPS gaming, the next update arriving to PlanetSide 2 has got you covered, as the Fortification update is bringing construction improvements and marking 20 years of large-scale online war on Wednesday, May 17th.
As one might expect from the update’s title, Fortification will refine the base construction experience with new buildables, revisions to existing buildables, and mechanical adjustments to modules and construction outposts that were first previewed back in April, along with some zoning updates to the Oshur continent.
Meanwhile, the PlanetSide series is turning 20 this year, and that is cause for in-game celebrations in the form of celebratory directives to earn a new weapon and some anniversary bundle packs to purchase in the Depot. The event is scheduled to run between May 17th and June 4th.
