Sure. Fine.

For those of you who do not play RuneScape and thus are unfamiliar with the game’s Ironman rules, it’s important to explain that it is not a challenge wherein you need to scavenge scraps and build power armor. Rather, it is a challenge wherein players are forced to be almost entirely self-sufficient and get as far as they are able within the game. The upcoming Group Ironman is the same in its basic idea, but instead of taking it on solo, you take it on within a pre-defined group. How can you take a solo challenge and make it a group thing? Why, that’s the entire purpose of a new article outlining the process!

The goal for this particular mode was parity both with Old School RuneScape and with the core principles of Ironman content – players should be restricted to their group for all support, but they also deserve unique features not present in the older version of the game including achievements, a competitive form of the challenge, better inventory group management, and greater group identity through cosmetics. The full article outlines how each of these different systems were conceived, so if you want to prove how far your team can push itself, you’re encouraged to take a look at the full rundown.
