Once Human’s latest update is plagued by new bugs, old bugs, and monetization woes

It’s a day ending in “y” for Once Human as the multiplayer survivalbox’s latest patch has once again arrived with the distinct wet thud of fresh bugs, all while NetEase developer Starry Studio appears to try to sweep a previous premium currency problem under the rug.

The patch in question primarily applies updates to mod sorting, Prime War, building piece sorting, and new plants, but only after the patch notes lead off with showcases of new cosmetics to buy and a new summer-themed transparent lockbox, which players have immediately started revolting against.

Shortly after the patch launched, players across Steam, Twitter, and Discord began flooding the studio with reports of suddenly inaccessible storage furnishings, “instant” crashes, and even problems with the new lockbox that has prompted a compensation package from Starry as noted from an in-game email message shared by our tipster.

These fresh problems lay atop the earlier reported crystogin bug, the saga of which continues to be chronicled by Redditor mystikx, who has shared multiple snippets of conversations with a support bot that continues to refuse his unban request for “prohibited behavior.”

Finally, Starry has elected to impose a limit to the window when players can join a new scenario server to 10 days in order to better lessen the gulf of character progress between newly arrived and established players.
