Are you sufficiently punk at your core? If not, you may not be allowed to play Corepunk because that’s kind of the whole thing right from the title on down. But the game is in early access now after so many, many delays, so you can find out for yourself just how punk you are after what felt like half of forever leading up to early access. Is it going to be punk enough for your core? We just don’t know yet. You decide!
Meanwhile, EVE Vanguard has more map variants up for testing as it continues to say that this time a shooter set in the EVE franchise will totally work. It’ll work. It’ll work, dang it! CCP even started a public access event running through December 4th to show you how much it works, although you need to sign up. The Quinfall has also opted for expanding its internal testing team by including players which requires signing up in (yes) the game’s Discord channel, and Eternal Tombs is celebrating 5,000 testers for the year, most of whom probably use Discord.
Originally I had a lengthy rant here about how much I dislike games using Discord instead of websites for everything here, but it got removed because we’ve all made that rant by now and Bree didn’t like its “shockingly off-topic nature” which included “egregious footage of bears.” Everyone’s a critic. Feel free to get in on the criticism by checking out our roundup of beta news and our full list of games in testing, then telling me what’s my fault in the comments! Or, if you’d like to make my day nice, just let us know if something slipped to a new test phase without our noticing.
We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
