You would think that getting an all-new internet spaceship in EVE Online would be a momentous occasion, but most of the time it’s just a matter of being handed the craft with a shrug and the understanding to not die in it. Soon, however, internet spaceship acquisition will be given a little bit of spice, as the sandbox is bringing cinematic ship introductions on December 5th, which will sexily show off the spaceship… after which players will want to try to not die in it.
“Spaceships are at the heart of the EVE experience, and boarding a new ship for the first time is about to become even more of a celebratory moment – one your hard-earned vessels deserve!” CCP Games says, followed by a preview of the flashy new introduction of a freshly-earned Apocalypse as an example of what players can expect once they earn themselves a new craft to float around in.
Obviously there is more on the docket for the game: Corporation leaders can now use a corp-specific ship insurance feature that guarantees seamless payouts based on loss value if fleet vehicles are turned into explosions, an option to use EverMarks to complete AIR daily tasks is online, and new mercenary tactical operation missions are available in nullsec systems that have mercenary dens. These features are all part of the most recent update along with some updates to the ship information window, new spawn locations for wormhole NPCs, and a change to when players can retire from direct enlistment.
