The Secret World TTRPG group is working on a North American expansion book

It's less of a secret now.

Way back in 2021, Funcom officially gave its blessing to a player-run studio that wanted to build a Secret World tabletop RPG. In 2022, the group – Star Anvil Studios – raised over $150,000 on Kickstarter to make that TTRPG a reality, and though it flew a bit under the radar, it launched and shipped this past spring. The devs also ran a Kickstarter to port the game to the Savage Worlds ruleset. Now, the same group is teasing an expansion book for the original, focused on the North America setting.

“An Age is ending… and the darkest days are already here. As magic begins to fail, ancient enemies cast their avaricious gaze upon our world. Threats both mortal and cosmic—once thought merely myth, but horrifically all too real—begin to reveal themselves as the clock counts down towards apocalypse. In the midst of these growing shadows, some hope yet remains… and you are that hope. Can you discover the truth behind the Secret World? The Secret World: North America focuses the story on the Illuminati and the North American Region. […] The Secret World: North America will be available for both 5E and Savage Worlds.”

The blurb teases “new player options,” new cryptids, seven new locations, and three new “interconnected adventures.” There’s a reminder page through Kickstarter – yes, it looks like another Kickstarter campaign – for folks who wants to keep tabs on it. This TTRPG is the most effort anyone has put into The Secret World MMO in years, so it’s one to watch if you love the IP.
