So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye goes out to both Pax Dei and Necesse this week, as both games have officially entered a launch state. I’ll always remember when you were in early access, and if I am pressed on it, I might remember that the former title actually exists. Yeah, it turns out quirky pixel art with a sense of humor actually sticks in my memory for more than five minutes, quelle surprise.
In other beta news this week, Arc Raiders is doing a full-on server slam test through October 19th if you want to get in and slam those servers for the purposes of preparing them to be properly slammed in the future. Aion 2 is also getting slammed, but less because of a specific test phase and more due to potential fans looking at the game’s monetization and freaking out just a little bit.
Me, I just ordered some new Transformer toys, I’m freaking out about that. I’m excited. I like toys! Do you like toys? If so, I can’t really help you. Do you like other beta news? That I can help you with because we’ve got a roundup of beta testing news down below, and then our list of games in testing below that. Let us know if something slipped into a new test phase or is otherwise missing from our list in the comments!

We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
