This week is all about proliferation of Iron Gate’s and Stunlock Studios’ survival sandboxes, as both Valheim and V Rising have expanded to new platforms, launches for Mac and PlayStation 5 respectively.

As reported last week, yesterday’s arrival of Valheim to Mac’s App Store brings with it all of the major updates applies so far, including the recently added Ashlands biome, while the announcement talks up the survivalbox’s march towards full release with the Deep North update, which will mark a final endgame destination for players. A timeline for this update was not provided, but considering the length of time it took other major additions to land, we project it to be sometime around 2025.

As for V Rising, its “fangtastic” 1.0 launch is now playable on PlayStation 5, bringing all of the vampiric spookiness, castle building, and famous vampire hunting crossover action that’s been the highlight of its full release in May. Naturally, this platform launch is cause for a trailer; that can be watched below.
