Plan out your Guild Wars 2 specializations with this tool

One of the big changes coming with Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is the revamp of the trait system into the new specializations. While only the fortunate beta testers can experience it first-hand, at least now you can plan ahead with this helpful specialization tool designed by that_shaman.

The tool allows you to select between classes and their various specializations. It does not, however, contain the elite specializations, as most of those have yet to be revealed. Give it a try and see if you can predict what your character will look like come later this year!

I’ll wait to see the entire system before I jump to conclusions, but from what I am seeing I don’t think it will be enough to get me to reinstall, sadly. :(  I want to like GW2, but it just, I don’t know…meh.

Fresh Meat Of all the upcoming changes, I’m most happy about those coming to elementalists. Blasting staff will be part of the class now, instead of requiring a trait. As Kalamari said, several traits will be combined into one– making each trait worth more than before with many more bonuses. A lot of the ‘dud’ traits aren’t so duddy anymore. As MatthewRiddle said, we’re getting 3 full trait lines; that’s essentially two bonus traits– one master and one grandmaster. The new setup looks great from my point of view and I think players will overall be happy about those changes.

jsmooth1 I doubt it.  Pets can bearly stay away from the camera long enough to fight a boss….

jsmooth1 Beast mastery got a very nice buff (a very needed buff imo), making a ranger “beastmaster” setup a really valid choice for endgame dungeons…in paper. We have to wait and see if the numbers match up. There is a bit of theorycrafting in the forums if you wish to check it out.

I’m looking at the Revenant skill lines… it almost looks like I could psuedo tank in GW2 with the right setup. Is this just a tease? It seems too good to be true.

Ranger -> Beast Mastery -> Beastly Warden: Your pet taunts nearby foes when executing a command F2 ability.

Now that is interesting. I hope that pets in the xpac can handle a few boss hits…

Kalamari Fresh Meat And people will be able to get 3 grandmaster skills, instead of two they can get now. Things will change, the world will not end.
