SkySaga starts alpha 4, unveils new website

SkySaga is not lying low these days; the colorful sandbox recently launched its fourth alpha test, which it has expanded to include more players than before. There’s also a brand-new North American website for fans to ooh and ahh over.

Alpha 4 isn’t merely more of the same, either. The test includes several new features, including social hubs, guild questmasters, daily quests, item sales, traders, desert worlds, more adventures, new crafting materials, and additional enemy types.

You can watch the Alpha 4 trailer after the jump and go to the official website to register to test if you haven’t already.

I’m in NA and have been playing most of day. Great game so far scratches the minecraft itch with out being too retro looking. Kind of wish the islands (and my bag!) were bigger.

I’m very excited about the game, only problem is that at the moment NA players cannot play it. It seems that the devs are testing out their servers for different regions.

Got my invite this morning and been playing off and on today.  Big improvements since last Alpha.

TL;DR: It’s an interesting Minecraft clone. Try it!

Played around with the new build a little last night. Radiant Worlds made some interesting changes in this Alpha version. The introduction of social hubs is a great improvement. It provides players a central place where they can pick up missions and meet other players. This was also the first play through where I saw other live players. The initial daily quests are just about right for a beginning player and I think their tutorial is pretty well done (if one follows the prompts!).

The chat system did not seem intuitive so I hope they work on explaining that better. The grand kid and I always enjoy the adventures you can go on and we are looking forward to seeing the new desert environments. Its Alpha, lots of stuff to work on yet, but the game is fun so far.
