Betawatch: September 18th, 2015

Finally, the trifecta is complete.

After a lengthy testing period, World of Warships has finally left port. That means that Wargaming.net has finally succeeded in getting all of the possible vehicle-based World War II vehicle games into a launch state, because World of Space Fighters is anachronistic and World of War Bicycles would attract very few players. Also, it means we bid farewell to the game on the list below.

Other beta stuff happened this week, too! More than we can list in full, but we can hit some highlights just the same.

  • Fangold is asking for potential players to sign up for alpha and beta testing; it’s also hosting a stream on September 22nd at 10 p.m. EDT to show off an early build of the game and perhaps clarify whether it’s said “fang-old” or “fan-gold.”
  • Saga of Lucimia is making itself available in Mac and Linux builds for its stress test tomorrow; the game is also planning on letting more backers in for the stress testing.
  • Hyper Universe Online is something of a side-scrolling MOBA-ish game with what appear to be thinly-veiled Power Rangers? There’s a preview available, regardless.
  • Eternal Crusade has indeed kicked off its hopefully less-than-eternal alpha, with the game’s Twitter account tracking as various batches of invitations have been sent out.

As always, there’s also that aforementioned list just past the break. Let us know if we missed something! We appreciate it.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions.
