Who wants to go back to school? What if it’s free? What if it’s in a video game? Yes, as promised, Corey “The Tolkien Professor” Olsen gave the first of his planned in-game lectures on Lord of the Rings inside Lord of the Rings Online last night. Though the planned lecture hall wasn’t yet ready on Landroval, the professor held the in-game part of the event en plein air as players gathered round.

I can’t quite get a headcount from the video itself because there are so many folks there, but MOP’s Justin said he struggled to even enter the right instance, and the professor’s stream recording was lagging pretty hard during the migration from Breetown into the world.
