Pokemon Go may have fallen a bit on SuperData’s mobile revenue charts, but it’s still making trucktons of money.
That’s according to app tracker Sensor Tower, which announced this week that the game has surpassed $1 billion in global gross revenue since July of last year when it first launched, zipping past the seven-month record set by Clash Royale, which will just have to take heart that it’s besting the pokeymans on the SuperData monthly charts. On the other hand, PoGo isn’t making what it used to:
“While its daily revenue has diminished since late July, when it grossed more than $18 million in one day—compared to the $1.5 to $2.5 million it has made per day recently—Pokémon GO has shown that it can still spark consumer spending through limited-time events.”
In other Pokemon franchise news, Nintendo’s financial report this week noted that Pokemon Sun and Moon did much better with the 20-40 age bracket than other games in the series, which ought to be one more clue that PoGo’s nostalgia-driven popularity isn’t just a result of those damn kids on your lawn with their fancy phones.
