Escape from Tarkov is heading into closed beta testing this weekend, complete with a trailer, so now’s your chance to jump in if you bought one of the founder packages. Is there more beta news? Of course there is.
- Early access for Citadel: Forged with Fire has already begun. (Forging with fire is good, fire is used for forging stuff.) This is despite having a slightly rough beta weekend, so caveat emptor and so forth.
- Did you remember that Lawbreakers was entering open beta today? Because it’s totally happening. The game launches on August 8th, so you’ve only got a little time to try it out before the launch. (See, the title has a double-meaning based on anti-gravity antics and breaking of the law of gravity. I think.)
- Guess what else has opened up? That’s right, OrbusVR has entered open alpha testing today, so everyone with a VR headset and time to test out the game’s interface can log in and go. (The title probably has something to do with orbs. And… VR, that one’s obvious.)
- Feeling left out of the party in Worlds Adrift? Good news is that there are more founders packs available now, so you can get in and go. Happy times! (There are… things drifting, I suppose. Worlds, presumably.)
- Last but certainly not least, Valiance Online has started its investor alpha today (and reminds us all that “valiance” is a pretty great superhero word, like “valor” or “virtue” or “paragon” or “uncanny”). So that’s moving along at a good clip.
Below this point, of course, we launch into the ever-lengthy list of games in current testing. Has something failed to be moved into the correct category? Please, do let us know down in the comments. Or just let us know about betas you’re enjoying.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
