Grand Theft Auto Online previews its high-adventure Doomsday Heist update

Daysdoom.

Sometimes, robbing banks gets boring. Specifically, robbing banks in Grand Theft Auto Online; you should not be robbing banks in real life under any circumstances. Don’t rob banks. But the next update for the game is promising a robbery involving jetpacks into a mountain, transforming DeLoreans, and doomsday scenarios. You probably shouldn’t be involved in that sort of heist anyway, but it’s a little more unclear what is happening here that is actually illegal.

This is GTAO, so something illegal is probably happening. But what is a bit more unclear.

You can check out the trailer for the update just below; at a glance, this “epic online adventure” has a lot of story hooks that seem more like single-player content, like promising to investigate the mysteries of Mount Chilliad. You’ll have to see how it plays out for yourself when the update goes live on December 12th; until then, watch the trailer to get all of the aforementioned transforming DeLorean action you could ask for. (In short bursts. You should not continually watch a one-minute trailer for the next several days.)

The first company to package this style of open world MMO gameplay in PG-form is going to make McBuckets full of loot.

In a different form, I would have bought three copies for me and my kids to run around in. As it is, I couldn’t buy even one.

on the flipside it’s maybe good there’s a few (and there are really few) mature games like this out there.

tho i’ve seem some rather odd ideas of what is fit for kids over teh past 20 years vs what isn’t.

I would complain about the lack of new single-player content but I tend to forget how much and how complete the story was. Although, other characters could have been used like in 4.

unfortunately most of the people that wanted more heists stopped playing ages ago and mostly rage about the game about things that are simply no longer true about it on social media.

and the things worth raging about the game they clearly have no idea since they still promote getting and even paying for hacked money when rockstar has severely doubled down on removing more money than you get from hackers even if you report it and didn’t want it in the first place.

Issue with the game is the retardedly long grind to get any of the cool new toys and how every server is filled with shitbags who have mini guns, tanks and jets just looking to blow you and your mid tier car to bits. That is not to mention the hacking.

see that’s the thing – it hasn’t been a long grind for a long time to get all the new toys.

the prices on things are higher but you get so much cash from playing for such a long time now.

and most of the time people don’t even pvp in the world and rarely for very long. i mean it’snot like you can’t just quickly hop to a new server or anything ffs.

but those are the memes on reddit i mentioned above from people who clearly haven’t played in years. yes. but htey are simply not true for a long ass time now. so yeah. that’s not even the issue with the game at this point.

How much do you make an hour in the game? I see people bragging about 300k an hour after they’ve already spent 10s of millions on CEO and biker gang stuff to unlock the missions.

Now factor in the new stuff is like 6 million for a cool new car and that is META grind 20 hours for one thing in a PvP shooter game.

If that has changed awesome but I can’t get my friends to touch the game with 10 foot pole because it turns into a chore to get any of the fun stuff to play with.

ceo and biker business stuff doesn’t even remotely costs “10s of millions” LOL

nor do the most expensive super cars cost anywhere near “6 million”

you also don’t need to own those businesses to do the content associated with them – can just group up with a business owner and get paid fat cash to help them run supplies/drop off product/run crates/run missions/etc.

but it would help if you’d actually touched the game in the past 2 years to know any of this before spreading the same old erroneous reddit memes that get reposted every week on the latest gta circle jerk thread. XD i mean really ffs.

I’ve made so much money doing Import/Exports. I bring my friends as well to give them a good 50k+ bonus and 11k every 15 minutes they are with me at 0% bonus which goes up with everything we do together as long as I don’t repeatedly die.

I got some friends into it recently. Took us a heist or two to get them set up with a clubhouse, apartment, and about 1-2 businesses fully upgraded. Then we just focus on hopping between doing my ceo stuff and their biker stuff since biker is passive.

honestly we ended up focusing on the biker stuff and just swaping between owners for supply runs until someone had a delivery to do. the deliveries are tense af even in small servers but the payoff for all is worth it.

I came back just this weekend after a huge break from getting bored of the old heists, the biggest issue I still see is hackers/modders.

It still kind of feels like a second job trying to make money in online though, but it might hold me over for a while, next heist looks bloody fun anyway, hyped to give it a try with my mate!

Some of the new vehicles look fun like the APC and stuff and the bunkers you can buy look interesting, my mate played/plays it a lot more then me though, I am poor as **** and have little to show for it so I usually just help him out as one of his little minions.

(I just hit level 101, he is level 404 lol)

a few hours running the world content will get you up a warchest to invest. it’s up to you what to do with it. can invest it in business of your own or keeprunning support.

my group used to cycle business owners to get what we needed and run product drops. but even just running the go to missions is good money for all.

the vehicles are high priced, but when you put them in mind with the money gains are probably more achievable than alot of mmo bullshit grinds. for realz.

i’m like not even level 90 yet and i’ve got good shit, tho i’ve bought a few sharkcards mind you. but i’ve also spent a tonne of time in the game doing non progressing shit lol.
