Another week is behind us, which means it’s time for another installment of Star Citizen’s Around the Verse video series. This week, Chris Roberts is joined by Technical Director of Content Sean Tracy to talk about the live mission gameplay that formed the centerpiece of the opening keynote presentation at the recent CitizenCon. Virtually the entire ATV video is dedicated to delving into the playthrough, which highlighted the upcoming planet Hurston and its main landing zone Lorville.

To give players an idea of the amount of work that went into creating the mission that the devs showed off at CitizenCon, devs from many different departments — from design to art and animation — provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating the mission. It’s a pretty fascinating window into the design process, and the devs provide details on a variety of aspects of the mission’s development, from coming up with the initial concept to creating the art and animations and ultimately melding the different facets to create a polished and compelling gameplay experience. If you want to check it out for yourself — and if you’re a Star Citizen fan, we do recommend it — you can watch the full Around the Verse video just below.
