Warframe explains the end of Alerts and changes to melee

Times are a’changing in Warframe in some pretty significant ways once again. New dev updates on the game forums have provided some more insight into the end of Alerts as players know them and the previously promised tweaks to melee.

Hitting things with the various sharp or blunt objects in Warframe will soon feature new adjustments like instantaneous switching between melee and firearms, more directional control for ground slams, and tweaks to combat timing that allows the next move in a melee combo to execute shortly after the player makes quick tactical maneuvers like a dodge or a bullet jump. There will also be automatic blocking when facing an attacking enemy in melee mode, and channeled attacks will be set to your alternate fire button. In short: Be ready to plan your keybinds appropriately.

As for the Alert system, that is being replaced by Nightwave, a pirate radio system broadcast by the Nora Night group. One of the new benefits of this system is the Cred Offerings store, a storefront that lets players use an in-game currency known as Creds to buy a rotating stock of items. Creds can be earned from completing daily and weekly challenges or ranking up with Nightwave instead of praying to the RNG gods. The first Nightwave broadcast, Wolf of Saturn Six, will last for a number of weeks and is due to arrive in-game soon.

There’s a lot to unpack for fans of Warframe, so be sure to check the source links below for all of the full details.
