Aion EU previews a new area, siege battles, and the Gold Arena coming in the 7.0 update

The 7.0 update for Aion’s EU version is shaping up to be a pretty meaty one by all accounts. A preview from the devs has offered a look ahead to what players can expect at the end of the month.

Players will be able to teleport from Lakrum to the new region of Dumaha. There, they can join in the struggle of the Stella Corporation to fight against the Snuwa, all of which are names that were actually used. You can expect some raid monsters full of shiny loot and fortress battles with a variety of rewards waiting for you in this new land.

Speaking of fortress battles, PvP is getting in to the act with siege battles that will be open twice a day for players. Three factions will brawl to take down the Snuwa Head Priest first and control an altar. These new PvP fights will grant players some legendary or ultimate Enchantment Stones. The Gold Arena is also making a comeback, granting eight teams of three the chance to duke it out for bragging rights and rewards.

Those closely following Aion will note that I wrote that this update is arriving at the end of the month; an update from the devs explained that QA issues have forced the 7.0 update’s launch back from July 10th to July 24th.
