Leaderboard: Would you wear MMO clothes that look like armor in real life?

Last week, ArenaNet dropped a bizarre tweet: It’s collaborating with an apparel company on Guild Wars 2-themed clothes. And I don’t mean t-shirts with cute quaggans on them (I’d wear that!); these clothes pretty much look exactly like in-game armor, just skinned onto real clothes. The models in the provided image look to be wearing basic dresses or tennis outfits.

Now, one of the cool things of not being a kid anymore is that you care less and less what other people think about you and/or you realize nobody was ever looking at you anyway. So wearing branded stuff and weird stuff becomes more and more fun. My closet (and my makeup) has only gotten wilder as I go onward in life. But I’m not quite sure about these dresses. Maybe I just need to see what else they have?

Would you wear stuff like this? To the pollmobile!

Considering what we get for clothing and design from the flavor of the month fashion “guru,” this kind of stuff fits right in, and is a whole heck of a lot better looking I dare say.

I voted that “I’d have to see more” because if the right look were there I’d wear them sure, but the current ones in the pic there are a bit too busy for my taste.

I’ve no issue with wearing graphical designs on stuff and do so already. I wouldn’t wear those specific ones shown there but yeah if the right look existed, so I’d just have to see more :D

The clothing in the tweet looks pretty rad. I wouldn’t wear it in public at my age, but I’d sure wear it around the house! Any mention of matching outfits for pets?

Maybe after the dementia kicks in, if I’m lucky.

No, but I welcome those who do to wear more hats. Or helms. Whatever fits.

Pauldrons in general would make for some amusing lawsuits.

Depends on 3 things:

1) Are they comfortable?

2) Does it come in my size?

3) What type of clothing?

I’m not wearing any onesies nor am I wearing a kilt, no matter if they they’re comfy and come in 4XTall. Still, if the top looks pretty good, I’ll wear that!

I mean, maybe to lounge in at home? But their busy graphical designs make them hard to turn into a proper outfit for going out imo. I also dont think the print looks that nice.

They dont make me cringe. If dudebros can walk around in football jerseys or whatever, I dont see why gamers cant wear something inspired by their favourite games /shrug

I think I’m gonna have to give that a hard pass.

Edit:That site already has WoW, Overwatch, Games Workshop, etc. themed stuff.

I have no issue wearing branded stuff. However this companies main demographic is women. https://t.co/kAdXHCJAq4?amp=1
