Decap-a-Thon sounds almost playful until you realize that you’re effectively lopping off the heads of other player characters to get points. But hey, this is Crowfall, and nobody said a throne war played out on dying worlds was going to be a snuggly time. Starting today, August 30th, players can make heads roll for a unique reward.
The reward in question is a skull belt accessory that provides a +2% critical hit chance and +2% critical healing chance. This grim goodie is offered to all players who make it on to the leaderboards during the Trial of Gaea regardless of faction. The rules of the event are simple: chop off player character heads, bring back the skull that drops to a brazier for sacrifice, and earn a point for your faction with every skull offered up. The faction with the most points wins.
Taking someone’s head isn’t just a matter of killing a player character, however. You’ll have to have a runestone spirit axe equipped and perform the Deathblow ability on a fallen target. Using this skill requires you to hold a key and has a windup animation, so there’s a chance the slain player could turn into a Spirit Crow and fly off before you can collect their head, so make sure you’re quick.
The Decap-a-Thon runs from now until Tuesday, September 3rd. Now get going. Chop chop.
