See City of Titans’ Alexandria beginner zone in action

After stumbling a couple of years ago when it had hoped to hit alpha testing, City of Titans and its team are projecting confidence that forward momentum is happening with the superhero MMORPG. In its new year post, Missing Worlds Media pointed to last year’s character creator as proof of progress and said that more is to come in 2020.

“While we have had our challenges along the way, we hope you agree that 2019 was a year of important progress, and 2020 will be an even bigger year for all of us who are working together to build this new game,” the team said.

Lest you think that the team is all talk and no substance, it posted a video from the game’s first launch zone, Alexandria. Apparently this area is “tantalizingly close” to being finished once final touches are applied by the team of volunteers that is making this game.

Is this a volunteer project or a kickstarted/crowdfunded project?

Graphs look 2008 quality but I wouldnt mind that much if a game is good

Looks like something out of a 2010-ish SL sim.

It’s really sad that no AAA developer sees the potential in this. A company like Rockstar, who already benefits from some great connected world games, could absolutely nail an open world creat your own super hero game.

But it’s good to see that this is finally progressing.

They have some kind of deal with Epic.

Everyone that uses Unreal Engine has “some kind of deal” with Epic, as they made said engine.

Rockstar cannot even handle very basic Red Dead Online let alone actually massive games with more than 20 people in an instance and complicated character creators.

In-game characters look only a bit better than Defiance 2013, animals don’t spawn, quests output zero to none xp and money, there is no co-op (outside of very short campaign), patches introduce crashes and there are no hotfixes for weeks, etc.

It is so amazing! It’s like CITY OF TITANS upgrades CITY OF HEROES with a more realistic higher resolution! It’s so much better than I had even hoped.
